She didn't have to fight anymore

She was blocking her view of a beautiful life

by focusing on the dark

all the rage and heavy emotions

were all that she knew

a life of fighting for survival

alone

but she didn't have to fight anymore

she was safe

to drop the armour from around her heart

to let the old crumble

which she thought she still had to slay

she's done enough

repeatedly focusing on the hurt was keeping her stuck

and missing out on the blossoms of life

the war of her pain is over

and she is ready to surrender

to opening to love.
