This message is inviting you to to pour self-care back into your being.

We often neglect our wellbeing for the sake of duties, work, family, friends, to-do lists, worry, rushing around, chores, errands and we dont stop to fill our reserves of energy, care and wellbeing.

This message is inviting you to remember how important self care is, you have been brought up to always be productive, that rest is lazy and self-care is selfish and in return your energy and health suffers.

When your body is aching, when you are exhausted, when you feel deflated - it isn’t a problem to fix, your body isn’t not failing you…..

It’s a call to give yourself the much needed rest and rejuvenation it’s calling for.

Meditation: This isn’t about starting or meditating more unless you feel the call to, but it is more about remembering to be still, to switch off now and again from the chaos of your life and this isn’t about doom scrolling or binge watching, for they still stimulate your subconscious mind. Instead, maybe try sitting without your phone while relaxing with a herbal tea in silence, maybe read an inspiring book to nourish your mind, you may like to have a relaxing bath listening to sound frequencies, The message of this card is learning to take moments of stillness for yourself, like re-charging your phone, plug out from the world and plug into something that is soothing, gentle and bathe in the stillness of that quiet moment.

Self-Care: This card aligns with the first card, but while the meditation card speaks of finding quiet moments to recharge, this self-care card is asking you: Where are you neglecting your own self-care? physically, mentally and emotionally. When you take care of yourself, you feel better, you hold yourself better and you can feel more confident in yourself, yet when you are constantly tired and drained, when you are busy putting other people’s needs before your own, you don’t often spend time on yourself, a face mask here, a nail appointment there. This isn’t about vanity or being high maintenance, it is about feeling your best, It’s about gentle yoga and healthy food to nourish your body, its about taking time to laugh and dance for yourself and your mental and emotional bodies. Think how you feel after stepping out of a hair salon, or dressing up for a night out, how different you hold yourself and walk with your shoulders back. while daily life is hectic and you rush out without brushing your hair and odd socks for the school run, this message is: you are worth spending time on your yourself. To feel powerful and confident, to look after your body and mind in doing self-care practices that make you feel good.

Reflections:

How can I create time in my busy life, to prioritise a moment of stillness to myself?

What self-care practices have I been neglecting, which I can re-introduce which made me feel confident and powerful?

What one thing/self-care practices can I do this week for my wellbeing?
